Hi! Are you new to Sahuarita/Green Valley and feeling a little out of place? Moving from California, where biracial children (black, white, etc.) and interracial couples are very common, to southern Arizona presented a major "change" in the social landscape. I want my children to know that they are not alone. There are plenty of children who look like them and come from similar families. This social group is geared toward parents of biracial children. The purpose of this group is to (1) meet other parents and kids in Sahuarita and the surrounding area from a multiracial background, (2) make new friends and (3) to discuss issues that come up for us related to race, and parenting in general and (4) to connect. Maybe you'll discover that you have lots in common with someone else or just share ideas : hobbies, relocation, job, start a play group, etc. Discuss the similar challenges that you face and the rewards of your situation. Our children will see that they are not so different from other families. All members are welcome!
